March 2011 is the deadline for Bulgaria's accession to the Schengen area.
On March 2, 2010 the Central Finance and Contracts Unit of the Ministry of Finance assigned to Consortium TBS-Samel the delivery of telephone equipment for 3000 lines for RBS, BPD, Level I and II at the external borders. The union includes two companies specialized in telecommunications - Telecom Business Solutions and Samel-90 - Samokov. Subject of LOT 3 of the procurement is television, communication, telecommunication and related equipment types for 1 439 229.6 BGN, including VAT. The contract is funded under Project BIP 2008 Schengen Facility, Action 3 Measure 1.

Max Telecom services were presented at BAIT EXPO by Telecom Business Solutions – a company operating in Sofia and Rouse. Max Telecom’s WiMAX cell in Ruse is not active yet but the alternative operator promises region coverage by the beginning of next year, said Tatyana Todorova, TBS office manager in Rouse. Through the Max Telecom network Telecom Business Solutions is going to offer all wireless broadband services including Internet, mobile telephony, video and IPTV through a single device.
