TBS Ltd. and Bulgarian Musical Society supported the training of the youngest member of the Union of The Bulgarian Composers


Peter Kerkelov is the youngest member of the Union of The Bulgarian Composers. He was born in 1984 in Plovdiv. Graduated Pedagogy of teaching music and classical guitar in the class of Milena Valcheva in the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts, Plovdiv in 2005. Parallel to this he was admitted in the composers class of Prof. Dimitar Tapkoff in the AMDFA, which he graduated in 2008. Specialized music composition at the National University of Bucharest with Professor Dan Dediu in 2006-2007.

His work covers various genres - mainly solo and chamber music. Among his compositions are many pieces for classical guitar, piano, clarinet solo, and chamber choirs.
Winner of awards as a composer and guitarist. As a composer he won second prize of the Academic Competition for song in honour of AMDFA 40 years anniversary; scholarship from the British Music Society to participate in the festival "Gaudeamus music week" in Amsterdam in 2006, scholarship from the Vagner Society in Bulgaria in 2007, two time winner of the scholarship for classical music of the Foundation of Raina Kabaivanska.
His plays have been published or issued in various books and CDs: Pieces for guitar (BalkaNota); Two Spanish sketches (BalkaNota); Variations on folklore theme "Katerino, mome" (BalkaNota); triptych for piano in the piano pieces for young bulgarian composers (AMDFA) Six miniatures by the devil - for violin and viola on a  CD by Nedyalcho Todorov, Verka Stefanova, Zornitsa Petrova (UBC), The little matchstick girl - for guitar in the French magazine Universe guitar.
In the spring of 2009 Peter Kerkelov applied in the Royal Conservatory in the city of Hague, Netherlands and he is the only bulgarian student admitted there to continue his education in composers art.
